The Housing

I source the headlight assemblies for my custom lights from eBay, where I’ve found the best-priced, blacked-out housing options that have proven to be both affordable and reliable. These assemblies serve as the perfect base for the custom work I do, providing a sleek, modern look that complements the Jeep Commander’s rugged style. Over the years, they have been incredibly dependable, allowing me to deliver high-quality, one-of-a-kind headlights to customers. Once I receive the assemblies, I carefully modify and customize them to meet each order’s specifications, ensuring every set of lights not only looks great but functions perfectly for your vehicle.

The Labor

The labor involved in creating custom headlights includes careful steps to ensure the highest quality. I use a heat gun to separate the lens from the housing, avoiding the risk of warping or cracking that can occur with an oven. After drilling precise holes for the LED strips, I integrate them seamlessly so no wires are visible. The process takes about 6-7 hours, including time for sealing and gluing the LEDs. With this said, I charge $120 for labor. While I strive to keep this affordable, I also want to support the tight-knit Jeep Commander community. This price helps fund my college tuition while offering fellow enthusiasts a quality, custom product.

The LED Strip

For the LED strips I mod into the headlights, I use XK Glow, a brand known for producing the best quality strips on the market. While they are on the more expensive side, their white and amber glow is unmatched in brightness and color accuracy compared to other cheaper LED strips I’ve tried. I’ve found that XK Glow provides a superior, vibrant light that enhances the look and performance of the custom headlights. In addition to their excellent product quality, XK Glow also offers outstanding product support, ensuring that I always have access to the resources I need to provide top-tier custom lights for my customers.
